Step
- 1 Determine the width of the awning
(A). This requires a
clear span, with no obstructions. The awning needs to be mounted on a
continuous uninterrupted plane. Be sure that light fixtures or down spouts
are not in the way.
Please be aware that although the awning
brackets require a minimum of 8" (inches) to mount
(B), you should allow
additional space below the awning for proper operation of any awning. The awning will require
a total of 12" (inches)
of space (G) to function properly.
A minimum of 7'6" is required from
the deck or patio to the top of the mounting space
(C).
See following chart for more details.
Step
- 2 Select the projection that best suits your needs
(D).
Make certain that there are no light fixtures or other obstructions in
the way of installation.

The chart above denotes the maximum
clearance with the pitch in the uppermost position. Your new awning has
been preset to this position at the factory. It does not require any
further adjustment. The Series 8000 comes with flex-pitch built in so in
this case you may adjust the pitch as you see fit - Series 8000 awning
only!
Step
- 3 Over 50 beautiful Sunbrella patterns and colors are available
from inventory. We use only the Sunbrella / Dickson line of fabrics and have chosen
the 50 most popular fabrics sold in North America for our stock items.
If
you require a different fabric color, we probably have them. We can
supply almost any fabric choice from Sunbrella or Dickson.
The Roof Mount Kit
The roof mount kit is to be used when
there is insufficient space to meet the requirements set out above.
It can also be used if you require more
height between the bottom of the awning valence and the deck or patio
(E).
To determine the mounting height when a
roof mount kit is used, you need to measure the distance from your deck
or patio to the roof line edge or the top of the fascia (F) and add
15". This height will now become the (C) measurement.
Awning cannot be mounted to the
fascia!
